Spring 2024 has arrived! Springtime in Myrtle Beach means warm temperatures and lower humidity. The average temperature in April tends to be about 75 degrees. Many events and activities are happening across the Grand Strand including celebrations, food festivals, and much more! Start making plans to visit Myrtle Beach this month and check out some of the top activities for April below.

Myrtle Beach Food Truck Festival

When: Friday & Saturday, April 5-6 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. | Sunday, April 7 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Calling all foodies! The Myrtle Beach Food Truck Festival returns for a weekend of food trucks, artisans, beer and wine, live entertainment, and local vendors. The event will feature over 50 local and regional food trucks with options ranging from sweet to savory including booze pops, Mexican fare, BBQ, soul food, and more. Single-day tickets are good for one person for any one day for $10, and the weekend pass for one person is $25. Children 12 and under are FREE for the entire weekend.

The Crazy Mason Milkshake Bar

When: March 18 - April 6th(while supplies last)
Where: The Crazy Mason Milkshake Bar at 2461 Coastal Grand Circle, Myrtle Beach

Hop into Spring! The Crazy Mason, near Coastal Grand Mall, has two special Easter-themed milkshakes. The first spring milkshake “Bunny Food” consists of cinnamon and sugar ice cream, with an orange vanilla frosted rim rolled in cinnamon sugar in a custom-designed Easter rabbit mason jar. It is topped with a two-layer carrot cake slice, orange whipped topping, cinnamon sugar mix, and a sugar carrot. The Second milkshake “Peep This” consists of

orange vanilla swirl ice cream in a custom-designed Easter mason jar with a vanilla frosted rim rolled in Easter sprinkle mix. It is topped with a Sugar Peep Cookie, marshmallow Peep, pink swirled whipped topping, and more Easter Sprinkles. A sweet and EGG-cellent way to welcome spring!

Earth Day Festival

When: Saturday, April 20 from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.
Where: Brookgreen Gardens - 1931 Brookgreen Drive, Murrells Inlet

Fly with the butterflies and protect the earth! Grab the entire family for a day of educational fun at the Butterfly Field. Adults will learn about plants and conservation, while children will explore stations to complete their Earth Day passports. Also meet and greet with live animal ambassadors, Community Conservation Partners’ Stations, and exciting games will help families become aware of the natural environment. This is a free festival with paid garden admission.

Taste of The Market Common

When: Saturday, April 20 from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m.
Where: The Market Common - 4017 Deville Street, Myrtle Beach

Come attend the annual spring Taste of The Market Common! It’s a gathering celebrating culinary diversity, featuring cuisines including Southern, Italian, Asian, and Tex-Mex, along with a sweet selection of desserts and specialty items. Each food-tasting ticket is cash only for $1 each, with food items ranging from 1 to 5 tickets. The tickets will be sold at booths near Barnes & Noble and Dolce Lusso Salon. Try familiar and new foods! At the very end, cast your vote for the best dishes using the tasting postcard provided. Also, take a look and enjoy the sidewalk sales throughout the center by several local retailers.

When: Home games in April: April 5 - 7 & April 16 - 21
Where: Pelicans Ballpark

Stock up on peanuts and Cracker Jacks - the Myrtle Beach Pelicans kick off their 2024 season with a home game against the Fayetteville Woodpeckers on Friday, April 5. SOS Spring Safari

When: Thursday, April 18 - 28
Where: Main Street, North Myrtle Beach

Did you know that the Grand Strand is the home of the famous Shag dance? The SOS (Society of Stranders) Spring Safari is a shagger's dream! Thousands of shaggers visit North Myrtle Beach annually for a wide variety of activities including tea parties, shag dancing, dance lessons, live music, and mingling with friends. As the sun goes down, all the local lounges light up with activity, and spots like Duck's, Fat Harold's, Pirate's Cove, and the OD Lounge become the center of nightlife and fun. This spring celebration will conclude with a parade on the last Saturday of the event featuring ACSC member clubs that plan, design, and build parade floats.

Art in the Park

When: Tuesday, April 20 & 21 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Where: Valor Park, The Market Common

It's an artist-run venue, held three weekends a year in Myrtle Beach. Hosted by Waccamaw Arts & Crafts Guild, visitors can view and purchase a variety of works of art including sculptures, paintings, woodworking, photography, jewelry, and more.

Myrtle Beach International Film Festival

When: April 23-27
Where: Stone Theatre, The Market Common

Join the movie extravaganza! It’s the 19th Annual Myrtle Beach International Film Festival (MBIFF) at Stone Theatre in The Market Common. Gather with industry professionals and film enthusiasts for talks and tidbits with filmmakers. There will be film showings of independent films daily during the festival along with networking, forums, and food events.

Dragon Boat Festival

When: Saturday, April 27 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Where: Grand Park, The Market Common

This is the 16th annual Dragon Boat Festival, a popular fundraising event featuring teams of 20 paddlers, plus a drummer, racing for the fastest time in their divisions. In addition, there will be a live DJ, awards ceremony, food and drink vendors, entertainment, and a Family Fun Zone, at additional costs. Spectator entrances are free!

Shadow Bay Celtic Festival

When: Saturday, April 27 from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Where: RH Acres, 3833 Socastee Blvd, Myrtle Beach

Join them for their second festival! This festival will feature a variety of Celtic traditions and will include Highland games on the main field, live Celtic music, a bonfire, a fairy forest, blacksmith demonstrations, an artisan area, a handfasting ceremony, a Maypole dance, and more. Tickets are $12 in advance for adults ages 12 and older, and $6 for children ages 4 to 11. Tickets can also be purchased at the gate with cash only.

Brookgreen Gardens Art Festival

When: Saturday, April 27 from 9:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday, April 28 from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Where: 1931 Brookgreen Drive, Murrells Inlet

Join the annual two-day art festival at Keepsakes, the Brookgreen Gardens shop on the lawn adjacent to Live Oak Allee. Come and enjoy the work of talented artists and artisans. Browse through a variety of paintings, sculptures, fabric art, pottery, glass, and more.

Socastee Heritage Festival

When: Saturday, April 27 at 10 a.m.
Where: 5611 Dogwood Circle, Myrtle Beach

Join the 12th annual family festival of the Socastee Heritage Festival! It is sponsored by the local nonprofit Socastee Heritage Foundation. Bring the entire family to enjoy children’s activities, live entertainment, arts and crafts vendors, food trucks, and more!

There are also a variety of shows and concerts taking place throughout Myrtle Beach in April. Enjoy exquisite costumes, songs, and dances at Alabama Theatre, the home of the ICONIC show! Or, catch a live concert in Myrtle Beach such as:

  • Dionne Warwick, a six-time Grammy Award-winning music legend, with countless hits will live at The Carolina Opry on Sunday, April 7.
  • Oak Ridge Boys, Grammy Award-winning and Country Music Hall of Fame members. After 50 years of touring, this is their Farewell Tour at Alabama Theatre on Saturday, April 6 at 7 p.m.
  • The Brothers Doobie & Journey Tribute, celebrating the music of one of rock and roll’s greatest 70’s acts, the Doobie Brothers will perform at Alabama Theatre on Saturday, April 20th at 7 p.m.
  • Arrival from Sweden: Music of ABBA has sold out arenas and venues all over the world with hits like Dancing Queen, Mamma Mia, Money Money Money, and more. Their production has lovely costumes, talented musicians, and breathtaking singers. They will be live at The Carolina Opry Theater on Sunday, April 21.
  • Josh Turner, with timeless songs like “Long Black Train '' and “Why Don’t We Just Dance” has a global reach surpassing 5.8 billion global streams, 6.5 million album sales, and almost 12 million track sales worldwide; check out his The Greatest Hits Tour at Alabama Theatre on April 27th at 7 p.m.
